what am i up to now? and not up to?

now.

By day I’m putting the strong majority of my energy into succeeding in my product marketing role at MongoDB.

With that, I’m reading a lot about product marketing and management. Send me your best articles and podcast episodes.

I’m also studying to become a certified beer sommelier. I’m currently a Level 1 Certified Beer Server through Cicerone, and am staring down the barrel of a year-long road to Level 2 Certified Cicerone. I’m also preparing to take my Beer Judge Certification Program exam for the first time.

Eventually I want to put my drinks knowledge into the public domain with an Eastern Ontario-focused blog. If you’re local-ish and love drinks, let’s chat.

open to.

I’m super open to meeting other product folks, whether you’re in marketing or product management. Ping me on Twitter.

I’m also available to provide free marketing support to non-profits, social groups, or super small businesses, especially if you’re in Ottawa. The pandemic has forced a lot of teams to rethink how they use the internet to do their jobs, and if you’re resource-strapped I want to help you. No strings attached.

not now.

When it comes to freelance marketing work, I’m choosing not to seek new paying clients—unless you’re a friend and you need more than just short, free help. I’m prioritizing any of my spare marketing energy to groups that otherwise can’t afford it.
